Highly professional and competent staff, top-class double room. Prime location for our visit to Eiffel Tower Viewing Deck at a medium distance from the hotel. Easy access to the bus stop, 5 minutes' walk.

In addition to delicious breakfast, the excellent service is offered. The rooms here are newly renovated and new-fashioned with amazing views...

My partner and I enjoyed a lovely evening with a great dinner and fine valley views from our upgraded room. The room, however, felt quite warm without air conditioning, which impacted our comfort. The hotel offers a beautiful atmosphere but could improve on some room amenities.

Chateau De Mercues was a good escape, with amazing views of the Lot river and an enchanting wine cellar that feels like a cathedral. The staff were attentive.
Minor signage confusion.

Spectacular castle with magnificent view. Large room with private bath, good water pressure. King bed.
Tour would have been nice. Didn't get to see the towers, parapets or wine cellar from the inside. Meals quite expensive, but prorating breakfast to allow a la carte pricing was a nice touch.

Just an ideal choice for a passing visit in Mercues with good value for cost. The breakfast, overlooking the fine valley, was a good way to start the day. If you need assistance, just ask the staff. They were very accommodating.

The staff were wonderful and the location spectacular. We were very well received and our room (indeed the whole building) enjoyed a commanding view over the valley beneath. The gardens and surroundings to the hotel are wonderful, the swimming pool is (potentially) enormous and the location is lovely. Our meal on the first night was first rate.
In between major meals, the service is a little sporadic - it isn't easy to get a coffee - and casual drinks are rather overpriced, even for a hotel of this stature (eg 12 Euros for a gin and tonic). The menu is magnificent but extremely limited - if you do not feel like dining opulently, there is no alternative to an 80 Euro dinner (this is quite a common problem in France), and the menu does not change at all from day to day. A smaller snack menu would be useful - though the hotel will provide a separate choice of food for children if you ask. The swimming pool was out of order for our visit - a major blow. This is an excellent hotel, but you need to go forewarned.

The beautiful spot. The castle on the great hill overlooks the valley. Great chateu open fully to the guests. Large outdoor pool.
The restaurant is too expensive and the quality is not suberb. The bathroom needs a repair.

Fine views and really good dining experience
The highlights were the amazing views from the hilltop and the exquisite dinner at the Michelin-starred restaurant, where each dish was a masterpiece. The room was lovely and well-appointed, contributing to a perfect romantic getaway. The only downside was the pool area showing signs of age. It could use a bit of refreshing.

The room was spacious and well furnished
The staff were uncoordinated. For example - we ordered a room service childs meal at 7pm and it arrived after repeated calls to reception at 8:45pm. We had a dinner reservation for 8:30 that we subsequently cancelled. Reception advised us that we would subsequently not be charged. But of course it ended up on our hotel bill.

I had a lovely stay with a spacious Beautiful Double Room. There was a fantastic evening spent on the outdoor terrace enjoying the sunset. The secluded garden area and a cozy plunge pool provided perfect spots to unwind after a long day. The only minor downside was some wear on the furniture, but it didn't take away from my overall experience. 😊
